A Double Dose of Celebration

So, do you remember how we suggested that Spiro & Associates has a great deal to celebrate this year? Well, it just so happens that the Agency’s 25th and 30th anniversary both fall in 2018! Confused yet? — we’ll explain. CEO/Chief Creative Officer Christopher Spiro launched The Spiro Group three decades ago, and that very firm that is now known as Spiro & Associates was incorporated just five years later (pshhh, and you thought it was going to be some long, drawn-out tale). Before we dive into details about what we have in store for our loyal supporters and newfound friends, here’s a brief history lesson for those who innocently missed the brand story video (mistakes happen to the best of us). 😉

 

Talk About a Throwback

The 1980s brought you the CD player, neon-colored clothing, “Miami Vice” and Chris’ dream come true — an opportunity to show off his mullet. That and his very own full-service ad agency. After renting out desk space in his father’s Cape Coral print shop, he met a man by the name of William (Bill) Waites who came along with decades of experience. As a senior creative at Ogilvy & Mather, he expressed a strong desire to work with Chris, but after meeting him, they devised a bigger plan — going into business together. Shortly after the birth of Spiro & Waites came other creative genius partners like Steve Martin (nope, different guy) and Steve “Colonel” Nance.

Fifteen years later, Bill retired, thereby changing the name of the agency to Spiro & Associates, the Great Recession began, forcing Chris to layoff 27 of his 34 employees. But when it was all over, he had reputable clients and a hardworking staff that gave him the opportunity to slowly rebuild. After Steve Martin retired to pursue his personal passion for coffee and bike riding, Chris trademarked Brand Architects™, defined amperbranding®, welcomed some new staff members, founded social media and web/digital/app departments, and accepted clients in nearly every industry imaginable, earning hundreds of awards that are proudly on display today. With 16 full-time employees today (plus Colonel who retired but still comes back to play), an office in the heart of busy Downtown Fort Myers and countless ideas to be fleshed out, Spiro & Associates has a brand story of success that we cannot wait for you to experience. What Now?25 Year Anniversary

Our 25th/30th year is still young, but there is plenty for you to see already. Take a tour of our new website — it will prompt a grin on the faces of the web team members (which, if you have ever worked in technology, you know doesn’t happen very often). Pay attention to the anniversary logo within the signature of every staff member’s email and reflected within the profile images and cover photos of our social media channels.
